ISSCore Administrator

ISSCore Administratoris the module responsible for target management within ISSCore Commander. It is an integrated administration tool with GUI interface used for performing several administrative functions. Its major function is to enable administrators to assign targets into the system. For the ease of target management, the concept of "warrant" is used to group targets that are involved in the same investigation. It also provides tools for administrators to check the target provisioning status and generate statistical reports on-demand. Security policies can be configured to govern the privileges and access limit of each individual user account. This enables investigators to gain access limit to specific warrant in ISSCore Viewer

ISSCore Analyzer

ISSCore Analyzeris a powerful integrated analysis platform responsible for performing collective analysis on data collected from multiple sources. Its major function is toassist investigators in obtaining the right intelligence (e.g. time, location, communication content) related to the interested suspect efficiently and easily from the central data repository that contains massive amount data collected data from multipledata source, including LI data and CDR records. Its graphical representation of extracted intelligence provides a simplified visualization view to investigators for intelligence analysis.

ISSCore Evidence

Within ISSCore Commander, there is anoptional subsystem named ISSCore Evidence System, which is responsible for transferring the collected evidence (i.e. IRI and CC of the targets) to portable media such as CD, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, or simply anISO image. This enables investigators to present the collected evidence in court or trial. It also provides a way for other investigators to view and analyze the collected evidence without accessing the LEMF.

ISSCore IM-Gateway

Within ISSCore Commander, there is a major subsystem named Collector System, which is responsible for target provisioning processing, correlating and storing IRI and CC collected from Mediation Device (MD) or Network Element (NE). It is made up of one of more Gateways. There are 3 different types of Gateways, i.e. TDM-Gateway, IA-Gateway (Internet Access Gateway), and IM-Gateway (IP Multimedia Gateway), and each type covers one of the 3 major telecommunication technologies being used today respectively i.e. Circuit Switching (CS) or TDM, Internet Access, and IP Multimedia.

Each Gateway can communicate with a MD through an international standard interface (i.e. HI1, HI2, HI3 as defined in ETSI). Alternatively, it can be configured to communicate with different NE e.g. switches, through their proprietary interface X1, X2 and X3 to perform lawful interception.

ISSCore Processor System

Effective Network Intelligence needs to identify and analyze hundreds of application and supporting protocols. It is also required to quickly adapt and accommodate changes in underlying protocols, especially emerging protocols usedin new software applications. ISSCore Processor System is used in ISSCore Commanderto process CC. It has the capability to decodeand assemblethe content contained in the intercepted network data packets for further processing (e.g. storage, analysis).

ISSCore Store System

The major function of ISSCore CommanderStore System is to provide a central repository for storing different types of LI data, including IRI and CC, in a massive scale. Design with high flexibilityin mind, it is highly scalable instorage capacity expansion, offering high availability, high performance, with controlled access to LI data. Security features are also built-in to protect the LI data including its authenticity, integrity, non-repudiation, and secrecy. It consists of three major components a) ISSCore Database, which is a relational database for storing communication data, b) ISSCore Filesystem, which is a well-defined structured file system for storing communication content, and c) ISSCore Signature, which provides various data security tools for protecting the LI data.

ISSCore Viewer

ISSCore Vieweris the software module within ISSCore Commanderresponsible for presenting the intercepted information and content of targets in appropriate forms such as text, audio, and video. It is an integrated platform with GUI interface that enables investigators to monitor the communication of the target in real-time (e.g. voice and VoIP calls, etc.) as well as reviewing historical communication content of the target. Its integrated analytic tools enables investigatorsto efficiently obtain the benefits from the results of analyzing intercepted data including but not limited to identifying links related to the target, revealingtarget's location, behavior pattern, and route prediction.
